What to expect
Typically new patient appointments consist of a consultation where we will diagnose your injury or reason for pain. Following this we will discuss your diagnosis, your treatment options and how we can regain your motion and function to your prior level. Initially Dr. Nelson and his team will do their best to avoid a surgery and provide the most minimally invasive treatment option.
Research
Upon your arrival for your appointment you will be asked to fill out forms to help guide Ryan to optimize your outcome. He utilizes patient reported outcome measures to help lead the orthopedic community to high quality research. The information from your visit will be entered into Dr. Nelson's database, which this data will be utilized to answer important questions and published in world class Medical Journals. In addition, he will publish his data on this website to help show you what to expect and how well his patients improve from treatments he provides.

In addition to seeing Ryan Nelson you will often see medical students and residents at your office appointments and the hospital. His passion for orthopedics includes that of teaching medical students and residents.
